Explore the forest
You can cycle all over the Vendée on the Vélodyssée. This magnificent network of cycle paths runs the length and breadth of the département. Almost all communes are served, from the coast to inland. You can take advantage of this opportunity to cross embankments, marshes and forests for a short or long ride.
On foot or by bike, you’ll find plenty of beautiful places to explore during your stay, and close to your campsite home, Le Bois de La Gachère.

Les Marais d’Olonne
If we can recommend a nice spot, it’s the Olonne marshes. For a change of scenery, it’s the perfect place. You can start from the commune of Olonne-sur-Mer, near Les Sables d’Olonne. Once you’re there, head towards the marshes, first crossing dirt roads and then arriving on the cycle path, which you’ll follow on foot.

Les Puits d’Enfer on Cayola Bay in Les Sables d’Olonne
For another invigorating stroll, head for Les Puits d’Enfer. These rocky chasms offer an impressive sight when the waves come ashore. An airy, relaxing walk to the sound of the sea, that’s what we’re offering you here. Overlooking the sea and the beach, follow the rhythm of the waves.

A word of advice:
For these walks, don’t hesitate to pack a picnic lunch in your rucksack, and enjoy a moment’s rest over a sandwich along the way. Take a break to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
